Sciys, a supplier of bespoke software systems, has won a contract with OneWeb to deliver satellite mission-planning software based on its Pleniter product.
OneWeb, a global satellite communications provider, will use the software for its satellite constellation, which is being built to become the world's largest in providing connectivity to billions of people.
The agreement links the company with technology companies in the international space business, while it will support “one of the most ambitious communications satellite mission in decades”.
Sciys chief executive Klaus Heidrich said: "It is yet another new space venture where we will provide Pleniter for mission control, alongside our recent partnership with PTScientists who plan to land a privately funded rover on the moon for Google's Lunar-XPRIZE competition.
He said that the contract win “substantiates our innovative strategic growth initiatives and opens up complete new areas to grow our well-established space business further".
OneWeb chief executive Eric Béranger added: "Our team thoroughly researched existing mission planning systems, and concluded the Sciys products were the best fit for our automated satellite operations center. We believe Pleniter gives us the flexibility, functionality, and scalability, to solve our complex mission planning goals."
Shares in Sciys were up 2.99% to 86p at 0918 GMT.
