Construction materials company SigmaRoc has acquired the remaining 60% of South Wales-based quarrying group GDH, it announced on Tuesday.

The AIM-traded firm said it would be working closely with the GDH management team to grow and develop the business in South Wales.

It said it would focus on a number of prospects and “significant” opportunities for the business during the rest of the year, and into 2021.

“We are delighted to have completed our acquisition of GDH and we look forward to building on the excellent progress made during our time as a minority shareholder and to continuing our work with Ian Harries and his team at GDH as they become part of the SigmaRoc Group,” said chief executive officer Max Vermorken.

At 1317 BST, shares in SigmaRoc were down 0.88% at 45p.
