Simulation development platform developer Simigon said on Tuesday that it has been awarded a contract by the United States Marine Corps that will see the firm provide it with virtual reality simulators.

Simigon will provide the Marine Corps Recruiting Command with its SIMbox-based F/A-18C and AH-1Z low-cost, portable VR simulation devices and deliver a turnkey hardware-software solution for up to twenty-five devices over a three-year ordering period.

Chief operating officer Jack Sarnicki said: "This win is indicative of the trust we have established with the US government through timely deliveries, innovative technologies and excellent customer service. This is a new customer for SimiGon Inc and an entirely new product to offer the military training and simulation market.

"We look forward to working closely with the Recruiting Command and expect this contract to help generate future new business not only with the USMC but also other similarly tasked governmental organizations."

As of 1105 BST, Simigon shares had slumped 15.79% at 4.0p.
