Sirius Petroleum in talks with BP over offtake and pre-payment facility

AIM-listed Sirius Petroleum confirmed on Monday that it is currently in discussions with BP regarding an offtake and pre-payment facility to support the financing of its proposed drilling programme on the Ororo Field in Nigeria.

Sirius said: "Discussions with BP, and other parties regarding financing, are ongoing and there can be no certainty that Sirius will reach an agreement with BP regarding the proposed offtake and pre-payment."

The investing company focused on oil and gas exploration and development opportunities in Nigeria - which was responding to an article in The Sunday Times - said it will provide updates to the market as appropriate.

At 1550 BST, the shares were up 63% to 1.30p.
