Surgery technology company Surgical Innovations announced on Monday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Elemental Healthcare has signed an additional three-year exclusive distribution agreement with Microline Surgical, for the distribution of Microline instruments in Great Britain.

The AIM-traded firm said Microline, based near Boston, Massachusetts, designs, manufactures and distributes instruments aimed at the minimally-invasive surgery market.

Its portfolio of products was said to be “complementary” to those offered by Surgical Innovations, with a focus on the ‘Resposable’ ethos of cost and sustainability.

Elemental already had an established relationship with Microline, and recently announced a new five-year United States distribution agreement with Microline for its range of ‘YelloPort+Plus’ and ‘YelloPort Elite’ access devices.

“We are very pleased to announce an exclusive agreement for a further three years to sell products manufactured by Microline Surgical,” said group development director Adam Power.

“Microline is Elemental Healthcare's longest standing distribution partner as well as our largest, and shares the philosophy of sustainability in its products which will play such an important part in hospital decision-making in the years to come.”

At 1410 GMT, shares in Surgical Innovations were down 0.74% at 2.68p.
