SyQic has launched its new "click to pay" payment platform for its Yoomob product.

The AIM-listed internet video content provider announced the launch on Friday, in partnership with international mobile payment provider Fortumo.

The system allows it to market Yoomob directly to potential subscribers via social media and collect subscriptions from users via direct payment channel partner Fortumo.

The company says it will rapidly roll out the service to regions outside Malaysia where it piloted the programmes, taking advantage of Fortumo's footprint across the company's target markets.

Chief executive Jamal Hassim said it’s a “transformational moment”and will help target content directly through users’ favourite social media platforms.

“[It] should be far more accurate and productive than the current SMS approach used by our current telco partners.

“Furthermore, we believe this targeted marketing approach with a rapid payment platform will help us to achieve better growth rates in terms of subscriber numbers and average user spend.”

SyQic shares were up 3p to 30p at 13:42 BST.
