Trakm8 awarded initial contract with Mecalac Construction Equipment
Telematics and data provider Trakm8 announced that it has been awarded an initial contract by global equipment solutions provider Mecalac Construction Equipment UK - previously Terex GB - on Tuesday.
The AIM-traded firm said the partnership, based on supplying a minimum 2,000 units over the first three years, would commence from June.
As part of the agreement, products would be sold to Mecalac customers worldwide.
Trakm8 would provide the “latest generation” T10 telematics device, which was manufactured in the group's UK manufacturing facility.
Data supplied would be based on Trakm8's asset solution to monitor the machine’s health and usage based on Trakm8's “extensive” automotive diagnostic knowledge.
The telematics devices would be fitted on the Mecalac manufacturing line to full automotive standards.
“We are delighted to have Mecalac as a customer for Trakm8's construction equipment telematics solutions,” said executive chairman John Watkins.
“This contract provides additional visibility for our expectations for this financial year and beyond.”
Lee Aldridge, programme manager of Mecalac Construction Equipment UK, said that in recent years, the company had seen customer demand for telematics capability increase “significantly”.
“By partnering with Trakm8, we can now offer a market-leading, proven solution for customers around the world.”
