CCTV system supplier, designer, installer and maintenance provider UniVision Engineering announced on Wednesday that additional works had been confirmed recently by mass transit operator MTR Corporation in Hong Kong.

The AIM-traded firm said the additional works fell under the contract for the replacement and provision of the CCTV systems for 84 MTR stations and 69 light rail stops, following the award of the contract as announced by the company on 12 May.

It said the additional works were for the provision of optical fibre cables for tunnel sections on the Tseung Kwan O line, and were part of the “optional works” as allowed under the contract.

“The value of the additional works is HKD 7m (£0.7m) and has not been included in the original contract sum of HKD 389.4m as announced on 12 May,” the board explained in its statement.

“The total value of the contract - including the additional works - is therefore HKD 396.4m.”
