That's roughly around the size of eighteen golf courses. The site includes two hotels, a shopping and dining complex and a grand theatre.

"Imagineers" as Disney calls them contributed to the design and layout of the mammoth park, which took 5 years to construct.

3) Six-week trial period brings in 1 million visitors

Ahead of its official opening, Shanghai Disneyland hosted a pre-opening trial period in which over 1,000,000 people passed through their gates. Reports suggest it was complete mayhem and has led the company to make various changes.

4) Managers have released an etiquette guide

After the chaotic trial period, the resort have introduced a set of regulations about how to behave in the park, which includes such things as not lying on the grass.

5) 5 hour waits can be expected for big attractions

Although some Disney classics such as Space Mountain have been scrapped, there are revamps of other popular attractions, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean. But visitors could be expected to wait in line for a huge 5 HOURS.

6) 330 million people live within three hours of the Disney resort

China's densely populated areas will prove ample ground for Disney to get people through their barriers and turn a healthy profit in no time.

7) £3.9 billion was the total creation cost

The resort is a joint venture by Disney (43%) and Chinese consortium made up of three companies owned by the Chinese government (57%), and their aim is to bring together a cultural exchange between the US and China.
