The Conservatives will hold the most seats according to exit poll, which puts the party firmly in the lead.

The Conservative party came out with 316 seats, while Labour held just 239.

The SNP dominated Scotland with 58 seats, while the Lib Dems and UKIP both fares worse than expected with 10 and 2 seats respectively.

The poll has called into question whether another coalition government would be necessary, indicating that if another Conservative - Liberal Democrat coalition was formed, the balance of power would shift towards the Tories.

The result sees the Conservatives outperforming their 2010 exit poll result, while Labour dipped to its worst result since 1987.
