IAEA confirms deal over Iran's nuclear programme

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has signed a deal with Iran aiming to resolving the outstanding issues over the country’s nuclear programme by the end of the year.

Speaking in Vienna on Tuesday, the the IAEA’s director general, Yukiya Amano, confirmed Iran and its international counterparts had reached an agreement.

"A text has been signed on behalf of Iran by the country's Vice-President Ali Akbar Salehi," he said.

"This is a significant step forward towards clarifying outstanding issues regarding Iran's nuclear programme."
