Weekly jobless claims fall 1k to 287k, below consensus of 295k

US jobless claims fell by 1,000 to 287,000 in the week to 4 October, according to the Labor Department.
The consensus estimate was a rise to 295,000 from a revised 288,000 the week before.
The four-week moving average fell from 295,000 to 287,750, the lowest since February 2006.
