Heathrow on Tuesday kicked off screening for Ebola among some passengers.

The first few passengers were checked at Terminal 1 on Tuesday morning, the Department of Health said.

Heathrow's other terminals will screen for Ebola by the end of the week before extending to Gatwick airport and Eurostar next week.

Screening is expected to cost £9m over the next six months.
