German CPI climbs to 0.3% in March

The German consumer price index rose 0.2% year-on-year in March to 0.3%, in line with consensus estimates.

On a month-on-month basis, the index declined to 0.5% in March, above expectations of a 0.4% reading but down from 0.9% in February.

On a harmonised basis, CPI inflation climbed 0.2% year-on-year to 0.1% in March, but declined 0.5% from the previous month.
Both readings were in line with analysts’ expectations.
