Nigel Farage has faced the European Pariament for the first time since Britain voted to leave the European Union - and he's making more enemies already.

In a speech during a debate on the response to Brexit, Farage took the floor to berate his fellow MEPS, accusing them of being "in denial" about the crisis they face with their currency.

The United Kingdom Independence Party leader also said that most of those inside the chamber in Brussels had "never done a proper job in their lives."

"Isn’t it funny? When I came here 17 years ago and I said that I wanted to lead a campaign go get Britain out of the European Union, you all laughed at me. Well, I have to say, you’re not laughing now, are you?"

"And the reason you’re so upset, the reason you’re so angry, has been perfectly clear from all the angry exchanges this morning. You, as a political project, are in denial. You are in denial that your currency is failing."

Farage also made a prediction that there would be further exits from the European bloc in the near future.

"What happened last Thursday was a remarkable result. It was a seismic result, not just for British politics, but for European politics [and] perhaps even for global politics too. I will make one prediction this morning; the United Kingdom will not be the last member state to leave the European Union," Farage said.
