Friday preview: Factory and services sector PMIs due out around the globe

Markets' focus at the end of the week will be on a raft of manufacturing and services sector survey readings for the month of August.

Purchasing Managers Indices for the UK are expected to reveal a small pick-up in the pace of growth in both sectors.

Retail sales figures for July meanwhile are forecast to reveal a 2.0% month-on-month rate of increase in July, following the 13.9% leap higher seen during the month before.

Readings on UK consumer confidence and retail sales are also scheduled for release.

Factory output growth is also expected to have accelerated a bit across the Channel, although the pace of growth in services is seen little changed.

A reading for euro area consumer confidence is also due out.

Comparable survey readings are also expected in the US.
