Friday preview: Global PMIs, UK retail sales

The spotlight in financial markets at the end of the week will be on a barrage of Purchasing Managers' Indices due out in the UK, US and euro area.

On home shores, S&P Global Ratings's PMIs are expected to show that factory and services sector activity slowed just slightly despite the reverberations of the war in Ukraine.

The services PMI is seen coming in at 60.0 for April versus 62.6 in March, while that for manufacturing is pegged to come in at 54.0, down from 55.2.

Also due out, at 0700 GMT, is a reading for retail sales in March and the results of consultancy GfK's consumer confidence survey for April.
