Friday preview: Global PMIs, UK retail sales in the spotlight
Updated : 08:17
All eyes at the end of the week would be on a raft of purchasing managers' surveys for June.
The results provided one of the earliest indications of activity each month and often moved financial markets.
PMIs for factory and services activity in the euro area and US were expected to reveal little change in the former but a slight dip in the latter.
Those for the UK on the other hand, which were due out at 0930 BST, were expected to show a dip in both.
Previously, at 0700 BST the Office for National Statistics was due to release retail sales data for May (consensus: -0.2% month-on-month).
And overnight consultancy GfK would publish its consumer confidence index for the UK in June.
St.Louis Fed chief James Bullard was also due to take to the podium, at 1015 BST, followed by the Cleveland Fed's Loretta Mester at 1840 BST.
In Asia, investors would be waiting on Japanese core consumer price data for May.
