Friday preview: UK data, Ashmore in the spotlight
Financial markets' focus at the end of the week will shift back to the UK, where investors will be eyeing the release of a raft of economic data, alongside the ongoing Brexit talks with Brussels.
At 0700 BST, the Office for National Statistics is due to release a barrage of readings covering foreign trade, gross domestic product, industrial production and services all for the month of July.
Across the Pond and over in Europe meanwhile, the spotlight will be on the latest readings for consumer prices Stateside and in Germany and Spain.
On the corporate side of things, UBS's Michael Werner has penciled-in a 6.7% rise in full-year net revenues to £335m for Ashmore, putting him 1% ahead of consensus.
For the fund manager's bottom line, the analyst was expecting earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of £216m, or 7.2% more than a year earlier.
Earnings per share meanwhile were pegged at 26.7p for a 6.8% rise on the year or 3.2% above consensus.
Above all, the analyst expected investor attention to be on any commentary that the firm might provide around the strength or weakness of flows since the end of June.
