Friday preview: US and euro area inflation data in focus
Investors' attention at the end of the quarter would be trained on the latest inflation prints due out in the US and euro area, especially the former.
Consensus was that at 1330 BST the Department of Commerce would report a slowdown in the headline price deflator for personal consumption expenditures from April's pace of 4.4% year-on-year to 3.8% in May.
Also scheduled for release were the MNI Chicago regional factory index and the University of Michigan's consumer confidence index, both for the month of June.
Those two reports would be forthcoming at 1445 BST and 1500 BST, respectively.
Earlier, at 1000 BST, Eurostat was expected to report that the rate of increase in the cost of living in the euro area edged up from 5.3% over the year in May to 5.4% in June.
Also scheduled to be published were monthly German retail sales and unemployment figures.
In the UK, at 0700 BST the Office for National Statistics would release a final reading for first quarter GDP growth (consensus: 0.1%).
