Friday preview: US consumer confidence, UK GDP in focus
Updated : 10:35
Financial markets' focus at the end of the week will be on the first reading on US consumer confidence since the start of the war in Ukraine.
The University of Michigan will publish the preliminary results of its consumer confidence survey for March at 1500 GMT.
On home shores meanwhile, at 0700 GMT, the Office for National Statistics will publish a reading for gross domestic product in January.
Consensus is for economic growth to have edged up at a month-on-month pace 0.1%, with an expansion in industrial and services output more than offsetting declines in construction and from foreign trade.
Across the Channel, preliminary readings for consumer price inflation in Germany and Spain are due out at 0700 GMT and 0800 GMT, respectively.
In the background of course, investors will be monitoring the headlines out of Ukraine and trying to anticipate the course of events.
