Friday preview: Week set to end on a quiet note

A second reading on third quarter gross domestic product and the Confederation of British Industry´s Distributive Trades Survey would be the focus in UK markets on Friday.

Otherwise, the end of the week was expected to end with a whimper, given the dearth of references on both the corporate calendar and on the economic front overseas.

US equity markets were set to open for just a half session, with exceedinly light trading conditions likely as a result.

Overnight, foreign exchange markets might react to the latest national Japanese consumer price data referencing the month of October, followed by November CPI data for Tokyo, with the latter typically setting the trend for the nation-wide numbers.

Stateside, the sole indicator scheduled for release was the advanced report on international trade for the month of October.

The flow of data in the euro area was set to be similarly light, with a reading on French consumer confidence and retail sales and industrial orders in Italy as the only reports due out.

In company news, Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings and Pennon were set to publish their interims, alongside Zambeef Products´ finals.
