Thursday preview: US jobless claims, UK house prices in the spotlight
Investors' focus on Thursday will be on the latest weekly unemployment claims figures in the US.
At 1330 BST, the Department of Labor is expected to announce that jobless claims rose 6,000 over the week ending on 3 June to reach 238,000.
Jobless claims have been largely flat at relatively low levels over recent months, but investors are closely watching these figures for any signs of labour market easing or otherwise.
On home shores, overnight the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors will publish its House Price Balance for the month of May.
At 1000 BST, Eurostat will release a final reading for first quarter gross domestic product growth in the single currency bloc.
