Against that backdrop, at 1330 BST, the Department of Commerce would publish a second reading for gross domestic product growth in the first quarter of 2023.

In parallel, the Department of Labor was to release its closely followed weekly jobless claims figures.

Across the Channel meanwhile, at 0700 BST consultancy GfK was due to release its consumer confidence index for June.

Several top European Central Bank officials were also scheduled to take to the podium, including the ECB's number two, Luis de Guindos, at 1000 BST.
