All eyes on Tuesday will be on the minutes of the U.S. central bank's last policy meeting.

According to Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC Markets UK, they should "offer a decent insight into how much appetite there is across the committee for further rate hikes at a time when the US economy is clearly slowing."

For the same analyst, Fed chair Jerome Powell's most recent speech suggested that central bankers in the U.S. would need to think "very carefully" about whether another hike might do more harm than good after the CPI figures for October strengthened the case for staying put on rates come December's meeting.

Also out of the U.S., at 1330 GMT the Department of Commerce will publish existing home sales figures for October

Earlier, at 0700 GMT the Office for National Statistics will release public sector net borrowing requirement data for that same month.
