Tuesday preview: Fed's Powell, Tokyo core CPI in focus

All eyes on Tuesday were expected to fall on Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell and any policy-relevant remarks that he might deliver at an event hosted by Sweden's Riksbank.

Powell was scheduled to speak twice, at 0930 GMT and 1600 GMT.

Against that backdrop, the US National Federation of Independent Business was to publish the results of its monthly survey at 1100 GMT.

Across the Channel meanwhile, French and Spanish industrial production data covering the month of November were set for release at 0745 GMT and 0800 GMT, respectively.

No major economic reports were due out in the UK.

In Japan, overnight the Statistics Bureau of Japan would release core consumer price data for Tokyo during the month of December.
