Tuesday preview: IFO index, ECB's Lagarde

Financial markets will be focused on Tuesday on the IFO institute's closely-followed business confidence gauge for November.

A speech from European Central Bank president, Christine Lagarde, at 1400 GMT, will also be scrutinised for any hints into the governing council's thinking.

On home shores, the sole indicator due for release is the Confederation of British Industry's distributive trades survey for November, at 1100 GMT.

Stateside meanwhile, investors' attention will be trained on the results of two home price surveys for the month of September at 1400 GMT and the Conference Board's gauge of consumer confidence for the month of November.
