Tuesday preview: US data, Abrdn in the spotlight

Investors' focus on Tuesday will be on a raft of U.S. economic indicators that are due out.

Key among those will be a report on durable goods orders in January at 1330 GMT.

It will be followed a half hour later by two reports on house prices in December and at 1500 GMT by regional factory sector gauges.

Across the Channel, the spotlight will be on euro area M3 money supply growth figures for January that are due out at 1000 GMT.

They will be preceded by consultancy GfK's consumer confidence index for Germany in February.

Just past midnight, BRC will release its UK Shop Price Index for January.

Bank of England Deputy Governor for Markets and Banking, Dave Ramsden, will deliver a speech at 1340 GMT.

Abrdn is among the names scheduled to update investors on Tuesday.

The investment company and asset manager is expected to post a 10% decline in net revenues for the back half of the year to reach £678m.

Consensus meanwhile was for a 22% drop in adjusted operating profits over the period to £120m for earnings per share of 6.7p.

According to UBS analyst Michael Werner, trading on 13.5 times' forward consensus earnings, the shares were discounting a move back into net inflows at the group at the start of 2025.

He on the other hand did not expect that to occur until 2027.
