All eyes on Wednesday will be on the Prime Minister's speech at the Conservative Party conference.

Against that backdrop, at 0930 BST, S&P Global will release its services sector Purchasing Managers' Index for the UK covering the month of September (Preliminary: 49.2).

That will be preceded a half hour before by a similar survey for euro area services from the same survey compiler.

Later in the day, at 1315 BST, consultancy ADP will publish its private payrolls report for September (consensus: 200,000).

At 1445 BST, S&P Global's services PMI for the US is due out, followed by a rival and more closely followed survey for the sector from the Institute for Supply Management (Barclays Research: 56.3) at 1500 BST.

Also of key importance will be the decision on output taken by OPEC+ with one person familiar with the discussions having reportedly told the Financial Times that cuts would be made against members' current actual levels of output and not their official quotas.

If correct, that could translate into a larger impact on the price of crude oil futures.

Further afield, overnight, in New Zealand, central bankers will meet to decide on interest rates.

Consensus is that the official cash rate will be hiked from 3.0% to 3.50%.
