Wednesday preview: UK CPI, Fed Beige Book in focus
All eyes on Wednesday will be on consumer price inflation readings due out on either side of the Channel.
In the UK, the annual rate of increase in consumer prices is expected to edge higher from August's clip of 9.9% to 10.0% for September.
Core CPI meanwhile is seen rising from 6.3% to 6.4%.
The Office for National Statistics will publish its report at 0700 BST.
Eurostat will follow at 1000 BST with a final reading for euro area CPI which is expected to print at 10.0%, the same as the preliminary reading and up from 9.1% in August.
Core CPI is expected to be confirmed at 4.8% or five tenths of a percentage point higher than in the month before.
Stateside, the market spotlight will be on the Federal Reserve's Beige Book which will be published at 1900 BST.
The summary of anecdotal evidence on the economy and prices from around the country is published roughly a fortnight before each Fed policy meeting and helps to inform policymakers' decisions.
At least three top Fed officials will also be taking to the podium, including Minneapolis Fed boss, Neel Kashkari, at 1300 BST, and the heads of the Chicago and St.Louis Fed banks at 1830 BST.
