Wednesday preview: US CPI, Asos in the spotlight
All eyes on Wednesday will be on the latest consumer price inflation numbers in the States.
The annual rate of increase for headline consumer prices is expected to have picked up from a 5.4% clip for September to 5.95 in October, pushed higher by soaring energy costs.
Core CPI is also seen moving higher nevertheless, from 4.0% to 4.3%.
Across the Channel meanwhile, a final reading for German consumer prices in October is due out, alongside data for Italian industrial production covering the month of September.
No major economic releases are scheduled in the UK.
For Asos's Capital Markets Day, UBS analyst Olivia Townsend is expecting the company to add further detail around how it is planning to meet its new targets for over the next three to four years.
The online fashion retailer had expected to host a CMD on 11 October, alongside the release of its full-year numbers, but the event was delayed due to the unexpected departure of its chief executive officer.
Townsend was also anticipating additional information around Nordstrom's partnership with ASOS Design brands in the States, on ways to improve its international performance and more colour on the Topshop business.
"Our conversations with investors suggest this is unlikely to be a major catalyst for the stock as some investors are waiting on the side lines until a new CEO is announced and either reconfirms or issues their own short-term and mid-term guidance/targets."
