Director dealings: Bob Morley stirs it up at Quarto

Illustrated book publisher Quarto's been informed that co-founder Bob Morley, currently a non-executive director, sold 1m shares at 246p per share and announced he was stepping down as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Following Morley's sale he retains an interest in 380,624 ordinary shares, or 1.9%, which he confirmed to the board he intended to retain as an investment.

Morley has been with the business for 40 years his departure follows a period of strategic change since 2012.

Chief executive Marcus Leaver said: "As a founder, and with his creative leadership, Bob has made a significant contribution to the Group. Throughout the company's history, there are few businesses in the Group that Bob has not inspired in some way or Quarto people he has not been happy to help, coach or mentor. On behalf of everyone at Quarto, I wish Bob, Jenny and their family all the best for the future."
