Director dealings: Berkeley Energia MD forced to sell ahead of major moves
Berkeley Energia managing director Paul Atherley sold over £88,000 worth of shares in the ASX and AIM-listed company.
Atherley said he sold the shares in an on-market trade in order to meet personal tax obligations.
He sold 135,000 shares at AU$1.069, totally just over AU$144,000, but still holds 1.37m shares, 4m options and 1.85m performance share rights.
The company recently completed what it said was one of the most significant in its history and that it was on the verge of full construction of its 100%-owned Salamanca uranium mine in the first few months of 2017, having raised US$30m to order primary and secondary crusher equipment.
Amec Foster Wheeler, which is carrying out the front end Engineering Design (FEED), made contractual enquiries for key equipment for the crushing circuit and the Company has now completed a purchase order for a primary jaw crusher and a secondary cone crusher.
Last month Atherley said: "The Salamanca mine is being constructed just as uranium prices have begun rising after multi-year lows. We are receiving growing interest from US and Asian utilities who are looking to diversify their off-take with a low cost producer in the heart of the European Union."
