Director dealings: Burberry's Frasch picks up shares near 200-week moving average

Burberry non-executive director Ron Frasch purchased 456 American Depositary Receipts in the luxury fashion retailer on 17 June.

The purchase took place outside a trading venue at a price of $22.36, for a total transaction amount of $10,196.16.

On 16 May, the luxury fashion retailer posted a 6% decline in adjusted operating profits for the year to the end of March to reach £438m, although excluding currency movements profit was flat. Revenue at constant exchange rates meanwhile fell 1% to £2.72bn

Five days later, analysts at Bernstein bumped up their recommendation on the company's shares from 'underperform' to 'market perform'.

They cited three reasons for the move: the expected arrival in stores of the new Riccardo Tisci collection over the next few quarters; reports from senior management of very strong consumer traction from the new styles introduced; and the expected renewal of 80 stores by the end of the 2020 financial year, representing circa 50% of sales.

Frasch made his purchases as Burberry's shares approached their 200-week moving average.
