Director dealings: Dunelm chairman goes on shopping trip

Dunelm Group chairman Andy Harrison picked up almost £0.5m worth of shares in the company, which are trading only around 10% short of their all-time high.

Harrison, the former Whitbread chief executive who joined the board two years ago, bought 54,700 shares at a price of 907p per share on Friday.

The purchase, which almost doubled his stake to 108,133 ordinary shares, follows encouraging quarterly results from the homewares retailer last month.

Not long after, deputy chairman Will Adderley, son of founder Bill, sold 4% of the company's shares.

Adderley sold 8m shares to institutional investors in a placing managed by UBS and Stifel Nicolaus Europe.

A statement from Dunelm said Adderley "remains fully committed to Dunelm in his role as deputy chairman as well as remaining a very substantial shareholder in the company", pointing to his and his wife's holding 27.4% and the wider family 51.2% of the group's shares.
