Director dealings: Gym Group board buys in, LSE director's firm makes £1m sale

Fitness facility operator the Gym Group was in focus on Thursday afternoon, after it disclosed five different share purchases.

The London-listed firm said board chair John Treharne bought 35,000 shares for 107p each, spending a total of £37,450.

Senior independent director Emma Woods spent £15,780 on 15,000 shares at 104.7p apiece, while non-executive director Richard Stables bought 50,000 shares at 107p, valuing the transaction at £53,500.

Non-executive director Elaine O’Donnell and associate Andrew Curwen bought 10,000 shares each at 104.7p, spending a respective £10,470.

On the selling side of the ledger was a transaction linked to London Stock Exchange Group director Martin Brand.

The company disclosed that York Holdings II, of which Brand is also a director, had offloaded 11,827 of its shares in the third tranche of LSEG’s buyback programme.

York Holdings II received 8,307.48p for each share, valuing the sale at £982,525.66.

At 1353 BST, shares in London Stock Exchange Group were up 0.5% at 8,360p, while those in the Gym Group were down 3.52% at 96p.
