Director dealings: Hill & Smith non-exec invests, Atlantic Lithium CEO's wife sells

Hill & Smith found itself on the buying side of the ledger on Tuesday, after disclosing a purchase worth almost £29k by a non-executive director.

The FTSE 250 company said Farrokh Batliwala bought 2,000 of its shares on Friday, at a price of 1,440.69p each.

That made the purchase worth a total of £28,813.80.

After the transaction, Hill & Smith said Batliwala had a beneficial interest in a total of 2,000 of its shares.

On the selling side of things, Atlantic Lithium said its interim chief executive officer was involved in a share sale worth over £0.34m for “personal financial reasons”.

The AIM-traded company said Lennard Kolff van Oosterwijk’s wife Melissa sold 600,000 shares on Friday for 57p each.

That made the sale worth a total of £342,000.

“Mr Kolff remains committed to the continuing growth and success of the company,” the Atlantic Lithium board said in its disclosure.

Following the sale, the firm said the interim CEO had an interest in 1,007,344 of its ordinary shares, representing 0.18% of its issued share capital.

He also had an interest in 15.5 million unlisted options exercisable at between 12p and 50p each, and 4.05 million unlisted performance rights exercisable for between 30p and £1 apiece.

Those options and performance rights would remain exercisable until various due dates between June this year and August 2023.
