Director dealings: Hostelworld's McCue dips in after warning

Hostelworld director Andy McCue, who joined the bargain rooms website just before its London flotation last October, has bedded down with the purchase of £45,400 shares after a weak trading update last week.

Non-executive McCue, former chief executive of Paddy Power but who left last month following the merger with Betfair, snapped up 25,000 shares in Dublin-based Hostelworld at a price of 181.5p each.

A update last Thursday revealed that trading over the second quarter at Hostelworld had been "at a level below our expectations", sending the share price, which had hit 300p in April, shooting down by around 30% on the day to not much over 180p.

On Friday, CEO Feargal Mooney bought 84,000 shares at 180.25p and chief technology officer John O'Donnell 30,000 at 181.4p
