Director dealings: Jardine Matheson's Keswick sells shares

Simon Keswick, a descendent of the founders of Jardine Matheson, has sold US$425,608-worth of shares in the legendary Asian conglomerate.

Keswick, a fourth-generation Keswick who joined the group in 1962 and has been a director of its holding company since 1972, sold 8,000 shares at a price of $53.201 apiece.

The sale by Keswick, brother of Arsenal Football Club chairman Sir Chips, comes just over two weeks after the company said the challenging trading conditions seen in its main markets last year had continued into 2016, leading to earnings being modestly lower than in the same period last year.

The massive group has interests that include Jardine Pacific, Jardine Motors, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Hongkong Land, Dairy Farm, Mandarin Oriental, Jardine Cycle & Carriage and Astra.
