Director dealings: Jimmy Choo CEO takes some profits

Jimmy Choo chief executive Pierre Denis sold £400,000 worth of shares in the shoe maker a few days after interim results sent the shares strutting to their highest level since late April.

Denis, who has been CEO since July 2012, sold 100,000 shares at a price of 125.625p apiece, though still holds a hefty 2.68m further shares.

August's half-year results showed revenues up 9.2% at reported currencies thanks to continued market-beating growth despite the difficult operating environment.

Jimmy Choo enjoyed growth in Asia, with impressive growth in China, and managed repositioning in a difficult USA market.

Operating profits were up 42.6% to £25.3m as gross margins expanded and cost control drove adjusted EBITDA growth of 12.8%, benefitting from operating leverage on fixed costs.

The company reported a strong start to the second half in addition to a positive benefit from a weaker pound.
