Director dealings: John Menzies CFO ups stake

John Menzies revealed on Wednesday that chief financial officer Alvaro Gomez-Reino had acquired 40,000 ordinary shares in the London-listed aviation services group.

Gomez-Reino, who took over as CFO in December 2019, purchased the shares on Tuesday at an average price of 299.00p each, for a total value of £119,600.

Earlier in March, John Menzies said it had swung to a full-year loss as the Covid-19 pandemic battered the travel industry last year.

Menzies said pre-tax losses for the year to 31 December came in £120.5m, compared to a £17.3m profit a year earlier, and warned that it did not anticipate a return to the volumes witnessed in 2019 before full-year 2023.

As of 1640 GMT, Menzies shares were up 3.17% at 309.0p.
