Director dealings: Kennedy Wilson Europe director splashes out

Mary Ricks, president and chief executive of Kennedy Wilson, the manager of the Kennedy Wilson Europe Real Estate investment trust, has splashed out more than £216,000 to swell her stake in the property developer.

The FTSE 250-listed investor said Ricks bought 20,000 shares at an average price of 1,082p apiece on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Following the purchase, Ricks, who joined the California-headquartered company in 1990 and led its European division since its inception in 2011, now owns 140,916 shares, representing 0.1% of the total.

In last week's trading update from the trust, Ricks said: "2016 will be a year of significant asset management for KWE. With a strong level of rent review activity, we have a good opportunity to deliver material organic net operating income growth by narrowing the gap between reversionary in place rents and ERVs [estimated rental values].

"Our portfolio remains in a robust position with good occupational demand across our core sectors and geographies. We also have an ample level of liquidity for acquisitions should we wish to capitalise on any potential market dislocations."

Apart from an option sale by BAE Systems' chief executive Ian King, the biggest straight share sale was by Russian gold miner Petropavlovsk's chief operating officer.

Dmitrii Chekashkin told the company that he sold 311,104 shares last week at 8.8p per share, around the highest they have been for over a year.

Chekaskin still has a considerable interest of 4.45m shares, however.
