Director dealings: Land Securities CEO picks up shares

Land Securities Group revealed on Friday that chief executive Mark Allan had acquired 29,686 ordinary shares in the FTSE 100-listed property group.

Allan, who took over as Land Securities' CEO in November 2019, purchased the shares on Thursday at an average price of 502.77p each, for a total value of £149,252.

Earlier in the week, Land Securities pulled its final dividend and warned of tenant failures across its portfolio as the coronavirus crisis contributed to wider full-year losses of almost £1bn in an already struggling market.

The group posted a pre-tax loss of £837m compared with a loss of £123m a year ago while its asset valuation was down 8% to £1.2bn, due to an already tough trading environment exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and associated retail shutdowns.

As of 1655 BST, Land Securities shares had inched ahead 0.38% to 523p.
