Director dealings: Loungers director snaps up three million shares

Loungers revealed on Monday that non-executive director Robert Darwent had acquired three million ordinary shares in the AIM-listed hospitality group.

Darwent, who was appointed to the board of Loungers in July 2019, purchased the shares on Thursday at an average price of 90p each, for a total value of £2.7m.

Back in December, the company reported a narrowed interim loss after it opened new locations and improved its operational efficiency at its current portfolio of cafes and bars.

The "comfort dining" specialist booked a loss before tax of £2.5m for the six months ended 6 October, which was an improvement from the £4.3m loss it reported at the same time last year, while revenue climbed by 22% to £79.8m.

As of 1625 BST, Loungers shares were up 3.12% at 99p.
