Director dealings: Ocado director snaps up £12.94m in shares

Ocado Group revealed on Tuesday that non-executive director John Rausing had acquired 660,777 ordinary shares in the FTSE 100-listed grocer.

Rausing, who was appointed to Ocado's board back in March 2003, purchased the shares via the Apple III Trust, of which he is a discretionary beneficiary, on Monday and Tuesday at an average price of 1,958.46p each, for a total value of £12.94m.

Back in April, Ocado dropped £10.0m on Oxbotica, an autonomous vehicle software company, and set up a commercial partnership to develop self-driving vehicles.

Ocado made the investment as part of Oxbotica's latest equity funding round and said it would take a seat on the group's board, with the companies set to collaborate with the ultimate goal of providing vehicles for Ocado's infrastructure customers with self-driving delivery vans and warehouse vehicles.

As of 1630 BST, Ocado shares were down 2.54% at 1,921.50p.
