Director dealings: PCA of Spirent director makes share purchase

Spirent Communications revealed on Thursday that Elaine Sullivan, a person closely associated with non-executive director Gary Bullard, had acquired 10,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed communications firm.

Sullivan purchased the shares at an average price of 255.92p each, for a total value of £25,592.24.

Spirent also reported a rise in full-year profit on Thursday and declared a special dividend despite "a challenging environment" due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Adjusted pre-tax profit jumped 10% to $103.6m in 2020 on revenue of $522.4m, up 4% from 2019, while the company's order intake ticked up 1% to $539.4m.

The dividend per share was lifted 12% to 6.04 cents, with Spirent declaring a special dividend of 7.50 cents per share.

As of 1645 GMT, Spirent shares were up 6.53% at 253.0p.
