Director dealings: Property tycoon Nick Candy ups stake in Audioboom

Kerry Group chief executive officer Edmond Scanlon topped the table of director buys on Thursday, spending more than €1.1m on shares in the company.

The London- and Dublin-listed maker of Richmond sausages and ‘Cheestrings’ said Scanlon bought 10,000 shares at a price of €110.925 apiece.

That made for a total transaction value of €1.11m (£0.95m).

Podcast company Audioboom, meanwhile, announced that prolific property developer Nick Candy had purchased another 10,000 shares in the company at 1,075p each, spending a total of £107,500.

Following that purchase, Candy was now directly and indirectly interested in 14.8% of Audioboom’s total issued share capital.

Most of those are held through the Luxembourg-domiciled Candy Ventures, of which Nick Candy owns 90%, and of which Audioboom non-executive director Steven Smith is also a director.

On the buy side of the ledger, Audioboom chief executive officer Stuart Last exercised options over 17,000 shares, and sold 15,000 of them for 1,042.14p each.

That netted him £156,321, while the company confirmed that Last retained the remaining 2,000 shares.

As a result, Stuart Last’s shareholding now represented 0.1% of Audioboom’s issued share capital, with options over another 283,000 shares.
