Director dealings: Talktalk director ups stake

TalkTalk revealed on Tuesday that non-executive director Roger Taylor had acquired 500,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed telecommunications firm.

Taylor, who joined TalkTalk's board back in 2015, purchased the shares in two separate transactions, one on Monday at an average price of 88.81p each and the other on Tuesday at an average price of 87.43p each - for a total value of £440,600.01.

Last week, TalkTalk pulled guidance and set aside £15m for bad debts in 2021 in response to the coronavirus crisis but kept its dividend and reported a rise in core earnings on the back of higher fibre internet takeup.

TalkTalk reported a 9.7% rise in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to £260m on the back of a 1.9% fall in revenue to £1.51bn. TalkTalk maintained a final dividend of 1.5p a share.

As of 1625 BST, Talktalk shares were up 0.34% at 89.65p.
