Director dealings: Wentworth Resources CEO makes share purchase

Wentworth Resources revealed on Tuesday that chief executive Eskil Jersing had acquired 265,097 ordinary shares in the AIM-listed gas production and exploration outfit.

Jersing, who was the CEO of Sterling Energy prior to joining Wentworth, purchased the shares on Monday at an average price of 21.50p each, for a total value of £56,995.86.

Earlier in the year, Wentworth highlighted a growing demand for its gas coming from power stations and industrial customers such as Dangote Cement and Goodwill Ceramics.

Wentworth achieved an average production rate of 87.3m cubic feet of gas per day in the final quarter of its trading year, with the figure for December alone measuring 92.5m cubic feet per day.

As of 1620 BST, Wentworth shares had shot up 7.69% to 21p.
