Director dealings: Wizz Air COO lowers stake

Wizz Air revealed on Thursday that chief operations officer Diederik Pen had disposed of 14,000 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed low-cost carrier.

Pen, who joined Wizz in January 2013, sold the shares on Wednesday at an average price of 3,616.0p each, for a total value of £506,240.

Earlier in August, Wizz reported a 25.7% year-on-year fall in its capacity to 3.02m seats in July, while passenger numbers were down 53% on the prior year at 1.82m.

Despite the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wizz said it still grew its network in July, with the launch of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi - a national airline of the United Arab Emirates - which will start operations on 1 October.

At 1545 BST, Wizz shares were down 1.1% at 3,692.00p.
